TVOParents was on the ground at the Waterloo Global Science Initiative where some of the top thinkers on science, math, engineering, technology and education came together to discuss what learning will look like in the year 2030.

Provincial test results show that achievement in math is steadily dropping. In fact, almost one in five Grade 6 students in Ontario don't meet the provincial standard, according to the latest EQAO test results. Sanjoy Mahajan, author of *Street-Fighting Mathematics*, talked to us about what's wrong with the way we teach math currently, and how we can increase student engagement in mathematics:
