  • Comment on what you see happening in the game, such as, "look, the plants are growing bigger now from all the rain and sun!"
Ontario Curriculum Connections:

Get Growing is a fun, engaging activity that helps teach your children aspects of the Kindergarten science program. Your child will learn all about how different plants grow, and the different elements necessary for plant growth to occur.

This activity meets many learning expectations, one of which is:

Science and Technology

Demonstrate an awareness of the natural and built environment through hands-on investigations, observations, questions, and representations of their findings

At-Home Activities:
  • Grow your own garden! If you don't have room outside, you can always plant seeds in small pots near your windowsill. Make this a super sonic learning experience by measuring the plant's growth, and keeping a weekly log of the changes you see. Make sure to include photos or drawn pictures to go in the log, too!
  • While walking around your neighbourhood, point out different gardens to your child, and talk about what you see. Ask questions like, "I wonder what the seeds of this plant look like, what do you think?"
